Medicare Part D plans help pay for prescription drugs. They are offered by private insurance companies that follow rules set by Medicare. You can add a stand-alone Part D plan to Original Medicare, or get drug coverage through a Medicare Advantage plan. Plans change their premiums, drug lists, and pharmacy networks every year, so it pays to review your plan each fall. Wellcovered Insurance in Orange City compares the Part D plans we represent using your actual prescriptions.
We do not offer every plan available in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE to get information on all of your options.
Wellcovered Insurance is an independent insurance agency located at 301 N Volusia Ave, Orange City, FL 32763. We are not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program.
How Part D costs work
- Premium: a monthly amount, which varies by plan. Higher-income members may pay more.
- Deductible: some plans have one.
- Coinsurance: after any deductible, you generally pay 25% of the cost of covered drugs.
- Annual out-of-pocket cap: once your out-of-pocket spending on covered Part D drugs reaches $2,100 in 2026, you move to catastrophic coverage and pay nothing more for covered Part D drugs for the rest of that year. The cap is adjusted each year.

Avoid the Part D late enrollment penalty
If you go without Part D or other creditable drug coverage for a period after you first become eligible, Medicare may add a late enrollment penalty to your premium. Even if you take few medications now, enrolling on time can prevent that penalty.
Review your plan every fall
Between October 15 and December 7, you can join, switch, or drop a Medicare drug plan for the following year. Coverage starts January 1. We recommend checking:
- Whether each of your drugs is still on the plan’s drug list (formulary), and at what tier
- Whether your preferred pharmacy is in network or preferred
- Any prior authorization or quantity limits on your drugs
- Total estimated yearly cost, not just the premium
